Welcome to the National Capital Kennel Club a community of judges, breeders, and dog‑show fanciers who share a passion for conformation and performance events. Each year, we proudly host exciting AKC‑sanctioned dog shows during the July Independence Cluster and October Fall Fest Cluster at the Howard County Fairgrounds. We’d love for you to join us in 2026—mark your calendars!

In July, in addition to Conformation judging for our show, we have a 4-6 month puppy competition and CGC testing. In October we have one Obedience trial and two Rally trials. 

Our members are deeply committed to strengthening the dog‑sport community. Each year, we host a member holiday celebration and offer educational events that build skills, connection, and camaraderie. A standout moment was our 2022 handling seminar with George Alston—now available to watch on AKC.tv.

We are especially proud to support Junior Handlers, inspiring and mentoring the next generation of dog enthusiasts. As we continue the legacy that began with our 100th anniversary in 2014, we remain dedicated to welcoming newcomers and sharing the excitement of dog sports with all who wish to join us.
